Can we trust To Be a Slave?

I think this is a pretty good story to trust. Julius Lester has a history of Civil and Social rights work behind him, and he, himself is a African-American. Hes wrote countless books in the past about similar issues on racism, slavery, and political corruption, though most his books are about the issue of slavery and discrimination. He wrote this book using the stories and opinions of past slaves. He got help from The Federal Writer's Project, who did more interviewer work with the former slaves, and tried their hardest to translate their stories to the English Language.
